Treatment and Timeline
Treatment: My project is a bit open ended in how it develops, as I feel the creation of a music video is a dynamic doing. I will be creating a music video to a song by The Civil Slingers, called King of The Swamp.
Link to the song: http://thecivilslingers.bandcamp.com/track/king-of-the-swamp
The song is full of energy and this energy was my main drawing in making a music video for it. The gritty rough sound it has coupled with the punk/country/rock style seemed to open up a wide array of abstract places I could take this.
I wanted to focus with the set piece of a swamp and some main protagonists, who will be the “King of the Swamp” or at least how this particular guy sees it. The idea will be show this character’s whimsical fantasy world he sees himself in. A main aspect will be an airboat, with other swamp cliches thrown in abstractly such as mosquitos and alligators.
The beginning of the video will consist of the “King” getting ready and entering into his airboat. As the song increases in intensity the airboat will speed towards the camera and go into the mouth of the “King” as the singer in the song is whaling away. What follows is however the video seems to flow in the making, but I have plenty of concepts and ideas to fill the music video in (shown in the Story Boards). I want the video to chronicle the King’s journey through the swamp as he rises up to become the “King.” Two examples of this is him fighting off the Alligator suspended in mid air and standing off against a squadron of giant mosquitos. As the video progresses I want the King’s view to become more abstract until it becomes a mess of graphics of all things pertaining to a Swamp to where the King sits upon his thrown.

Background for Roto
Went under a little redesign. Choose to try and recreate a China Town esque setting.
